The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) protects California consumers by licensing and regulating the state's construction industry. CSLB was established in 1929 and today licenses about 290,000 contractors in 44 different license classifications.

The California State License Board (cslb.ca.gov) has in place the following requirements all residential remodeling contractors must follow:

• Contract deposit amounts may not exceed $1000.00 or 10% which ever is less.

• All change orders must be in writing, agreed to and signed by all parties involved in the contract.

• All Subcontractors involved in the project must also be fully licensed and insured.

• All Subcontractors with employees must have in-place a Workers Compensation Insurance policy.

Local Municipal Licenses and Permits

Since building permits are required for most aspects of residential/commercial remodeling projects, BBK is required to have a Municipal License in every city where we do work.

BBK will create and submit the necessary drawings and paperwork to obtain the permit for your project.
